Gabrielle Everett completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Lyon College, and her Master of Arts degree (1995) and a Specialist in Community College Teaching (2001) at Arkansas State University. Prior to becoming a community instructor, she spent six years teaching in the public school system in Oxford, Mississippi. Ms. Everett has worked at community colleges in Arkansas, Arizona, and now Missouri. She is a member of the National Women`s Studies Association, the Missouri Historical Society, and the National Organization for Women. Her main area of study is 20th century America and Europe. After living in 4 states in 6 years, Ms. Everett is quite happy not to have moving boxes littering her living room.

Lisa Hollander holds a BA in English from the University of Denver, a Diploma in International and Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics, an MA from Columbia University in New York and has completed coursework for a PhD in History. Deeply committed to bringing international issues into the Missouri community college curriculum, Ms. Hollander serves on the Academic Affairs Committee, the Global Education Committee and on the Board of the Missouri Community College Association. She is the College Study Abroad Advisor and Global Studies Program Coordinator. She is a member of the Society for History Education, the National Education Association and is listed in Who’s Who Among America`s Teachers. In her spare time, Ms. Hollander likes to be outside with her dogs or collecting historical objects of all kinds, such as Orthodox icons, fountain pens and war memorabilia. Born in Zimbabwe, Ms. Hollander has lived in a multitude of countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and in six different states of the United States.

Scott Holzer has taught at Jefferson College since August of 1997. His previous teaching experience includes two years as an assistant professor at Alcorn State University and two years as an instructor at the University of Mississippi. He holds a B.A. from Humboldt State University, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Holzer is a member of the Organization of American Historians, the Society for History Education, the Missouri Historical Society, the State Historical Society of Missouri, and the Southern Historical Association. He is the Dual Enrollment Coordinator for history, serves on the Tenure Appeals Committee, served on the Academic Affairs Committee for six years (two as chairman), and served as club advisor to Phi Theta Kappa and later Habitat for Humanity. In 2003, Dr. Holzer received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.

Lisa Armbruster has taught at Jefferson College since 2007. Her previous teaching experience includes 2 years at Notre Dame High School in St. Louis, 2 years as a teaching assistant at UMSL, and the last 4 years at Maryville University and East Central College. She has taught U.S. & State Government, American Cultural History, Women in American History, Contemporary U.S. History and the U.S. History survey courses. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Missouri at Columbia and post degree certification for 9-12th grades from UMSL. She also holds a M.A. from the University of Missouri, St. Louis in U.S. History.

Joseph Thurman holds an M.A. degree and a B.A. degree from the University of Missouri?St. Louis. He is currently working toward a Community College Teaching and Learning Graduate Certificate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and then plans to begin work on his Ph.D. in history. Joseph`s primary field of interest is 19th-century United States history, specifically the Reconstruction Era. He is currently conducting research for an article about the education of Freedmen in Missouri during Reconstruction. Joseph has also conducted award winning research on the Nazi educational system. In addition, he recently published an article on James H. Lucas in the Missouri Historical Review, which he plans to extend to a full-length biography. Joseph has taught United States History at Jefferson College since August 2004. He has also taught United States, European, and World History at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois (2005-2008).
